It’s hard to list all the services that we can offer but if it’s on a boat I’ve probably repaired it, replaced it, upgraded it or given some advice on it - I may have sworn at it too!

The team and I generally work out of a boatyard at the top of the River Hamble. We sometimes travel for works in the local area but generally it's better for all if the boat can come to our base with workshop nearby. I work with a trusted network of manufacturers, suppliers and other tradespeople to ensure that there isn't much we can't do or facilitate through others.

Even though I have come to be known as "The Contessa-Professor", we work on all types of boats, mostly sail but occasionally motor. There are always a couple of Contessa 32 projects on the go, we regularly work on sailing yachts from all the main manufacturers’ old and more recently built boats.

In addition to the hands-on boat works I can provide consultancy services to owners doing their own refit and repair works but like to have someone to call on when needed. This is ideally done on a boat that is local so I can see and touch the job but can also be delivered over the phone or video call.

Most enjoyably, I occasionally help provide sailing and boat-handling tuition to new (or not so new) boat owners. This may be with a focus on berthing, single or short-handed sailing or spinnaker handling. Each owner has their own unique requirements that we agree on to get a tailored training experience.
